Perhaps the most unusual travel
operator in the uk, owned by the youngest person ever
to travel to every sovereign country
in the world. This site uses many interesting features,
including javascript photo albums, Java applets and more.
As always with Sortique, the site style reflects the tastes
of the business owner.

PDS
|
|
A "spicy" site reflecting
the rich red/black/white design of their new business
literature
and brochure. PDS are the largest specialist property
broker in the UK, providing their clients with invaluable
information
on properties available across the UK. The site is not
just their "business card on the web", but it
also uses our S-Publish software. This has enabled PDS
to extend
the range of customers
they can reach, with subscribers to their property information
now living all over the world!
When PDS decided to branch out into offering business
financing, Sortique were delighted to provide web site
authoring once more. This time, the site offers a destinctly
different, cool green appearance, with custom banners
and backgrounds in keeping with the finacial nature of
the business. |

Friends of Soqotra (FoS)

Soqotra is a unique island
off the Yemen coast. Unique because it has flora and fauna
not
found anywhere else. It has been called the Galapagos
of the Indian Ocean, and the Friends of Soqotra are a
voluntary group (with limited means) who wanted to publicise
their
work, share research information and generally facilitate
the preservation of this remarkable island. The original
design of their site was completed on a tight time table
and budget.

Davis and Co.
|
Davis and Co are a firm of
solicitors based in Amersham. When they started up they
needed a web
site and came to Sortique. A number of possible styles
were tried live on the web using Sortique's servers, until
the
present site design emerged. The emphasis here is on clean
lines, simplicity, and getting across a message very effectively.
The site includes CVs of practice members to add to that
feeling of professionalism. Sortique is also retained
from time to time to update the site.

The Cheap Property Shop

When PDS want to sell
their property holdings, they returned to Sortique
to consider how the web could help. As well a new
public web site, Sortique helped them produce an
intranet for use within the company. This includes
a management information system (MIS) which assists
in tracking property issues, costs and required
actions, as well as public interest in the properties
on the web site measured in "hits". This public
web site is driven from this same information system
using
a
highly
automated
Content Management System (CMS), which is also template
driven. The result? PDS have the management information
they need, 24 hours a day, anywhere they happen
to be. Their staff can work from home if required,
and a capable web site has property information
automatically updated to reflect the current portfolio.

The
Music Ghost |

This innovative "spooky"
new site seeks to sell music from unsigned artists.
Our
client
had a formidable specification to meet - potentially
thousands of CD albums to be available to purchase
either as CDs sent through the post, or directly purchased
as MP3 downloads.
Our work included setting up the site, adapting the
e commerce software for this special requirment (including
adding functions for batch processing orders, sales
reporting to a given format, and even printing
out address labels!). We also advised on the
selection of software
packages
that
convert
CDs into MP3, allow the creation of track samples
etc.
As you would expect from a site that takes credit
card information direct, security has been a major
concern, and Sortique have configured the site to
use SSL encrption for transferring critical data. |

Poppets Parties |

This example of an online
shop shows what can be done when resources are constrained,
but you want to get on the net to sell your products.
Using the basic OSCommerce shopping cart, adapted for
use in the UK market, Sortique provided Poppetsparties
with all of the functions they wanted at a very attractive
price.
All the same, the client has a fully functional web shop
that includes various reports, the ability to add and delete
their own catalog items, and to monitor stock turnover. |
